Movie Description

A Second Chance At Love...And Laughter

Once upon a time, a dashing young British Army officer and a lovely student nurse fell deeply, magically in love. Then he was shipped off to Korea and they never heard from one another. Forty years later, fate brings them together again... with hilarious results.

Episode 1: When Lionel (Geoffrey Palmer) and Jean (Judi Dench) were young they dreamed of a romantic holiday together in Paris. Now the the dream has become a reality they find that true love never runs smoothly!

Episode 2: Lionel's father is getting married. Jean is a bridesmaid and Lionel is to give away the bride. When events on the wedding day go awry Lionel winds up in a quite different role.

Episode 3: Jean and Lionel have made the decision to live together. However, when wires get crossed, confusion grows about who is to live with whom.

Episode 4: As Jean and Lionel struggle to resolve their living arrangements, Jean's sister-in-law comes to visit the "lovey dovey" twosome. Not willing to admit the real situation, Jean embarks on a cover up that forces Lionel to practice unlicensed psychology.

Episode 5: Jean and Lionel have at last agreed the Lionel should move in with Jean. When left alone in their new joint accommodation, they find it a little difficult to adjust to this new way of life.

Episode 6: Jean is opening another secretarial agency and is looking for someone to run it. Meanwhile, work for Lionel seems to have dried up, giving Jean cause for concern. But Lionel is withholding something from her.

Episode 7: Alistair returns from a trip to the US and announces to Jean and Lionel that he has an American TV company interested in their love story as a mini-series.

Episode 8: Jean and Lionel travel to Los Angeles to discuss turning their love story into a film. But Jean becomes quite concerned when Lionel meets the executive who will decide their fate.

Episode 9: Back from California and suffering from jet lag, Lionel takes to bed. Jean, however, must see to a problem on the part of Judy and Sandy with the manager just appointed at the new branch office.

Episode 10: There is more disquiet as Jean and Lionel engage in further discussions of the mini-series to be based on their love story.
